Torsion Groups

Overview

A torsion group is a group in which all elements have finite order. A group is torsion-free if the identity is the only element of finite order.

Let $G$ be an abelian group. Then the torsion subgroup of $G$ is the subgroup consisting of all elements of finite order in $G$.
